Submission Requirements and Supporting Files

1. Submission Requirements

Manuscripts submitted to SITEKNIK must be original scholarly works within the journal's Focus and Scope. Submitted manuscripts must not have been formally published elsewhere and must not be simultaneously under consideration by another journal. All submissions must be made through the official SITEKNIK online submission system.

2. Official Manuscript Template

Authors must prepare their manuscripts using the latest official SITEKNIK manuscript template. Manuscripts that do not comply with the official template or basic submission requirements may be returned to the authors for correction before entering editorial screening or peer review.

3. Basic Manuscript Requirements
Language English or Bahasa Indonesia
Manuscript File Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx)
Manuscript Length Normally 9–11 pages
Article Title Maximum 15 words
Abstract 150–220 words
Keywords 3–5 keywords or key phrases
References Normally at least 20 relevant scholarly references using APA 7th Edition
Similarity Indicative maximum 20% using Turnitin and/or iThenticate, subject to editorial assessment
4. Minimum Required Submission Files

Each manuscript submission must contain at least two required files uploaded within the same submission record in the SITEKNIK online submission system.

Required File 1 — Manuscript
The complete article manuscript prepared using the official SITEKNIK template and uploaded in Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx) format.
Required File 2 — Similarity Report
A complete Turnitin and/or iThenticate similarity report in PDF format. SITEKNIK applies an indicative maximum similarity threshold of 20%, subject to editorial assessment.

The manuscript and similarity report must be uploaded within one manuscript submission. Authors should not create separate submission records for these two files.

5. Optional Supplementary Materials

Authors may upload additional supplementary files where they support the transparency, verification, reproducibility, interpretation, or understanding of the research.

  • Research datasets or processed data files;
  • Supporting or supplementary data;
  • Research instruments, questionnaires, interview guides, or survey forms;
  • Source code, scripts, algorithms, software files, or computational materials;
  • Additional tables, figures, diagrams, images, audio, video, or multimedia materials;
  • Technical specifications, system documentation, prototype documentation, or validation records;
  • Ethical approval documents where appropriate;
  • Research permits or relevant institutional supporting documents;
  • Supporting calculations or additional methodological documentation;
  • Other relevant supplementary materials supporting the research findings.

Supplementary materials should be clearly named and described during submission. Authors are responsible for ensuring that these materials do not contain confidential, personally identifiable, copyrighted, proprietary, or otherwise restricted information unless appropriate consent, authorization, or permission has been obtained.

6. Required Article Components

Manuscripts should follow the structure prescribed in the official SITEKNIK template, including Introduction, Research Methods, Results and Discussion, Conclusions and Suggestions, Acknowledgments, Conflict of Interest, Author Contributions, Data Availability Statement, and References, as applicable.

7. Research Integrity and Required Disclosures

Authors are responsible for the originality, accuracy, integrity, and ethical compliance of submitted manuscripts. Conflict-of-interest, author-contribution, funding, data-availability, ethical-approval, informed-consent, and substantive generative-AI disclosures must be provided where applicable.

8. Editorial Screening and Peer Review

All submissions are subject to initial editorial screening. Manuscripts that pass the screening stage are processed through SITEKNIK's double-blind peer-review procedure involving at least two independent reviewers. Submission of a manuscript does not guarantee acceptance or publication.

9. Submission Preparation Checklist
Before completing a submission, authors should confirm that:
  • The manuscript is original and is not simultaneously under consideration elsewhere.
  • The manuscript falls within the Focus and Scope of SITEKNIK.
  • The latest official SITEKNIK manuscript template has been used.
  • The manuscript is uploaded in Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx) format.
  • A complete Turnitin and/or iThenticate similarity report is uploaded in PDF format.
  • The manuscript and similarity report are uploaded within the same submission record.
  • The similarity result does not normally exceed the indicative 20% threshold, subject to editorial assessment.
  • All author names, affiliations, email addresses, corresponding-author information, and available ORCID iDs are accurate.
  • Conflict of Interest, Author Contributions, and Data Availability statements are included.
  • Ethical approval and informed-consent information are included where applicable.
  • Substantive use of generative AI or automated content-generation tools has been disclosed where applicable.
  • All references have been checked and DOI information is included where available.
  • Tables and figures are appropriately numbered, labeled, cited, and prepared according to the official template.
  • Required permissions have been obtained for third-party material where applicable.
  • Relevant datasets, supporting data, source code, research instruments, or other supplementary materials have been uploaded where appropriate.

IMPORTANT

A complete SITEKNIK submission must include at least two required files: the manuscript in Microsoft Word format and the Turnitin/iThenticate similarity report in PDF format. Additional supporting files may be included where relevant.

Author Copyright, Publication Rights, and Open Licensing
Authors Retain Copyright

Authors retain copyright in manuscripts and articles published by SITEKNIK: Sistem Informasi, Teknik dan Teknologi Terapan. Submission and publication do not require authors to transfer copyright ownership to SITEKNIK or its publisher.

Right of First Publication

Upon publication, authors grant SITEKNIK a non-exclusive right of first publication and the non-exclusive right to publish, distribute, preserve, archive, index, display, and promote the published Version of Record as part of the journal's scholarly publishing activities.

Unless otherwise clearly stated for specific third-party material, articles published in SITEKNIK are distributed under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) license. Author Reuse and Self-Archiving Rights

Authors may reuse, reproduce, distribute, translate, adapt, present, teach from, and incorporate their published work into subsequent scholarly or professional works in accordance with the applicable license. Authors may also deposit the Preprint, Author Accepted Manuscript (AAM), and published Version of Record (VoR) in appropriate repositories and scholarly platforms without embargo, consistent with SITEKNIK's Repository and Self-Archiving Policy.

Third-Party Material

Authors are responsible for obtaining any permission required to reproduce, adapt, or include copyrighted third-party material. Material that is not covered by the article's CC BY 4.0 license must be clearly identified with its applicable copyright, credit, or licensing terms.

Author Confirmation

By submitting a manuscript to SITEKNIK, the corresponding author confirms that all authors have approved the submission, that the manuscript does not knowingly infringe third-party copyright, and that, if accepted and published, the article may be published under the CC BY 4.0 license in accordance with SITEKNIK's Copyright & Licensing Policy.
