1. Policy Statement

SITEKNIK Journal upholds the highest standards of academic integrity and strictly prohibits all forms of plagiarism. Authors must ensure that their submissions are original and properly cite all sources of information, data, and ideas.

2. Definition of Plagiarism

Plagiarism includes, but is not limited to:

  • Copying text, figures, or tables from other works without proper attribution.
  • Paraphrasing substantial portions of another work without acknowledgment.
  • Self-plagiarism (reusing significant parts of one’s own previously published work without citation).
  • Submitting work produced by others as one’s own.

3. Similarity Check

  • All submitted manuscripts are screened using plagiarism detection software (e.g., Turnitin, iThenticate, or equivalent).
  • The maximum acceptable similarity index is 15%, excluding references, quotations, and commonly used phrases.
  • Manuscripts exceeding this threshold will be returned to authors for revision or rejected outright.

4. Author Responsibilities

  • Authors must ensure that all sources are properly cited following APA 7th edition guidelines.
  • Authors should avoid excessive quotation and instead use paraphrasing with proper attribution.
  • Authors must declare that the manuscript is original and has not been published elsewhere.

5. Editorial Actions on Plagiarism

  • Minor plagiarism (e.g., small sections without citation): Authors will be asked to revise and resubmit.
  • Major plagiarism (e.g., large copied sections, fraudulent authorship): The manuscript will be rejected immediately, and the author’s institution may be notified.
  • If plagiarism is detected after publication, the article will be retracted and a notice will be posted on the journal’s website.

6. Ethical Compliance

This policy aligns with the COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics) guidelines on plagiarism and publication ethics.
