Peer Review Process

Publication of articles in NJCOM: Community Service Journal is dependent solely on scientific validity and coherence as judged by our editors and/or peer reviewers, who will also assess whether the writing is comprehensible and whether the work represents a useful contribution to the field. 

NJCOM: Community Service Journal knowledged the effort and suggestions made by its reviewers.

  • The editor will conduct an initial evaluation of the suitability of the manuscript sent to NJCOM: Community Service Journal. Manuscripts will be examined and assessed strictly, especially in relation to the suitability of the focus and scope of the study, conformity with the template that has been set as a guide in the preparation of the manuscript, and ensuring that the submitted manuscript is original and has never been published or is in the process of being published in another journal.
  • Manuscripts that have passed the initial evaluation stage will be sent to reviewers. The NJCOM: Community Service Journal used a double-blind review method.
  • Reviewers will assess, correct and provide input related to the quality of the content reviewed in the manuscript. Reviewers will also suggest improvements and/or accept/reject manuscripts.
  • After reviewers have finished reviewing the manuscript, reviewers will provide recommendations, namely: a) Accepted, meaning that the manuscript is eligible for publication in the NJCOM: Community Service Journal; b) Accepted with the conditions of slight revision, meaning that the manuscript can be published, but the author needs to make minor corrections according to the corrections from the reviewers; c) Accepted with the provision that many must be revised, meaning that the manuscript can be published, but there are many substantive shortcomings that the author needs to correct, such as adding an analysis of field data, adding field data that is considered lacking, rewriting paragraphs that are not clear in their sentences, clarify or confirm the main theory used, as well as other things that are considered substantial for improvement; d) Rejected, meaning that the manuscript cannot be accepted for publication because there are serious and very basic problems related to the content of the manuscript. The reviewers' recommendations will be discussed with the editorial board so that the editors consider in deciding whether the manuscript is eligible or not for publication.
  • Acceptance of manuscripts for publication will be decided by the editors taking into account the suggestions and recommendations of reviewers. Editor's decision is final.
  • Manuscripts that are decided to be accepted will be checked for plagiarism levels using Turnitin software. Manuscripts with a maximum similarity level of 15% are allowed to proceed to the next stage. Meanwhile, for manuscripts with a similarity level above 15%, the journal manager will return the manuscript to the author to be corrected and sent back.
  • Manuscripts enter the production stage for publication preparation.
